Aged in a 450 litre red oak cask, this version enjoys crossing the borders of its clay-limestone terroir. Both its aromas and flavours evoke a traditional rum. And yet it does this only to better return to its Charentes region to breathe in lungfuls of vine flower and soak up the delicately woody fragrances of the cellar where it spent five years brilliantly sculpting its aromatic and gustatory palette.
Profile: the deep initial nose is vanilla and fruity (ripe grape). Allowed to breathe, it becomes honeyed (acacia) and roasted (coffee). Exotic fruits (pineapple) and citrus fruits punctuate the aromatic palette. The lively attack is also very fruity (Mirabelle plum, pear). The generous mid-palate is like a delicious rum baba. The lightly tannic finish is floral and mentholated.
