Boogieman Beer Society Quadrupel 2025-003 Barrel-Aged
This unique branch of Wijn- en Whiskyspecialist van der Boog is fully dedicated to aging beer. While many are familiar with the concept of a wine cellar, few enthusiasts take the time to properly age their beers.
Yet there are quite a few beers that truly come into their own with proper cellaring. Think of classics like Westvleteren 12, Cuvée van de Keizer Blue, or Hertog Jan Grand Prestige.
We proudly present the third beer of 2025 bottled under the Boogieman Beer Society x Eggens Craft Beer label. A special release: a Quadrupel that has aged for approximately 685 days in casks previously used for Irish whiskey and Barbadian rum.

What is a Quadrupel?
A Quadrupel is a beer style known for its strength, complexity, and deep, dark character. It originates from the Belgian Trappist brewing tradition but is now crafted by brewers around the world. Quadrupels are top-fermented beers, meaning they are fermented at higher temperatures, which contributes to their rich, layered aroma and flavor profile.
After nearly 700 days of aging in casks soaked with Irish whiskey and Caribbean rum, our Quadrupel 2025-003 reveals a lush interplay of dried fruit, oak, and a touch of toffee. Best enjoyed at room temperature from a tulip glass, preferably in the gentle glow of the evening.
Aging advice
Our recommendation is to age this beer for 4 to 5 years, though we understand if you can’t wait that long. It’s also perfectly enjoyable right now.
Tasting note
After nearly 700 days of maturation in carefully selected Irish whiskey and Barbadian rum barrels, this Quadrupel unveils itself as a true flavor experience. On the nose, delicate aromas of warm spices and soft vanilla mingle with sweet hints of sugarcane and oak.
The taste is rich and well-rounded: an elegant balance between rum-kissed sweetness, subtle spice, and a pleasant woodiness reminiscent of old libraries and leather armchairs. The roasted caramel base of the Quadrupel gains additional depth from barrel-aging, with notes of raisins, dark fruit, and a touch of nutmeg.
Serving suggestion
Pour gently into a tulip glass and serve at 10–12°C (50–54°F). Perfect for a long evening, paired with a bold blue cheese—or simply on its own as the star of the moment.
