Rasta Morris Bielle 7 years 2015 - 2022 #RM030

This impressive rum from Marie-Galante was crafted at the renowned Distillerie Bielle and bottled at cask strength by Rasta Morris. Aged for 7 years in an ex-bourbon cask, this agricole rum bursts with character and intensity. The natural maturation and unfiltered nature bring out a vibrant, terroir-driven profile. Cask #RM030 is a perfect example of how bold and refined Guadeloupe rum can be, with a robust yet balanced 56.2% ABV.

Tasting Notes

Nose

An explosion of sugarcane, green banana and citrus zest, followed by hints of olives, woody spices and a touch of varnish.

Palate

Rich and full-bodied, with layers of ripe tropical fruits, saline minerality, pepper and a trace of menthol. The agricole identity shines through.

Finish

Long, dry and powerful with notes of sugarcane, spicy pepper and a touch of bitter citrus.

Here we went looking again in Bielle's warehouses. For us, this small, family-run distillery remains the Rolls Royce of the Caribbean. We found a 2015 single cask this time, which was given a tropical maturation from 04/2015 to 03/2022. The cask was then transported to Belgium for immediate bottling. We may therefore speak of a full tropical maturation.

Asta Morris
