Tasting Notes:
Colour: Deep walnut brown.
Nose: Rich, deep and enticing, this expression of Glenmorangie is bursting with luscious sweet and fruity flavours. Sherry cask notes have harmonised with Glenmorangie's soft scents to give a first impression of chocolate toffee with a mixture of dried fruits (dates and figs), subtle spices and sugared almonds.
The addition of water releases a myriad of intense ripe fruits, revealing an exceptional combination of soft and dried fruit: plums and peach skins interwoven with dates and figs. Beneath the deep fruits, an amazing symphony of sweetness emerges with mead and honey along with chocolate fudge. Simmering beneath the surface are hints of cocoa, soft leather and walnuts.
Taste: Big and full-flavoured, the mouthfeel is an amazing balance of velvety, chewy and mouthwatering effects. The initial sip reveals peach and plum skins progressing to rich fruit cake and chocolate raisins. Later, trifle laced with Oloroso sherry emerges with hints of sultanas, orange peel and walnuts.
Finish: Long, rich and mellow with creamy cappuccino, a sprinkling of chocolate powder and cinnamon.
