Bottling Glen Grant 1961
On the instructions of my father, cask 6201 was filled with 'new-make' spirit at the Glen Grant Distillery on Christmas Day 1961.
It was left to quietly mature at the distillery for many years before being trasferred to Gordon & MacPhails bonded warehouses in Elgin in 1972.
There the cask lay until the decision was finally taken to bottle this Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky on 4th February 2011.
Official Tasting Notes:
A complex Sherry matured Speyside Single Malt which reveals dark chocolate and peppermint aromas, along with malt notes, vanilla and hint os ground coffee and banana.
Waves of blackcurrants and blaeberries (wild summer fruits) are present on the palate, along with a wonderfully smoke note, liquorice and spicy aniseed flavours.
