Zuidam Kaneel Liqueur

Nose

Instant cinnamon, warm and spicy, with a soft vanilla note and a light caramel veil. A subtle bakery like touch brings to mind speculoos and cinnamon rolls.

Palate

Rounded and warming with clear cinnamon, brown sugar and a hint of clove. Sweetness is present but well balanced, with a soft, creamy texture and a light peppery tickle that keeps it lively.

Finish

Medium length and warm with lingering cinnamon, gentle sweetness and a spicy glow that fades slowly.

Zuidam Distillers is an independent Dutch family distillery based in Baarle-Nassau. The company was founded in 1976 by Fred and Hélène van Zuidam, who began producing artisanal liqueurs and genever. The second generation, brothers Patrick and Gilbert van Zuidam, now leads the family business, which has developed into one of the most versatile distilleries in the Netherlands.

Zuidam deliberately keeps much of the production process in house. Spirits and extracts are made within the family distillery from natural ingredients, without artificial flavours, colours or aromas. For whisky and genever, grain, extended fermentation, slow distillation in small copper stills and carefully controlled cask maturation all play important roles.

Alongside Zuidam Genever, the house produces Dutch Courage Gin, Flying Dutchman Rum, liqueurs, vodka and Millstone Whisky. The first experimental casks for Millstone were filled in 1996. This broad experience with distillation, botanicals, grain and oak gives Zuidam a distinctive identity in which Dutch tradition and continued curiosity naturally come together.
