Living Souls Ninety-Nine & One

A whisky with a story as remarkable as its taste. Living Souls Ninety-Nine & One is no ordinary dram, but a rare creation born out of a fortunate accident on an island steeped in Scottish history and tied to the legendary Clan MacLean. What started as an 18-year-old island single malt took an unexpected turn when a tiny amount (less than 0.1%) of 3-year-old grain whisky was added. Technically no longer a single malt, but what emerged is a one-of-a-kind expression brimming with depth and personality.

This “mistake” resulted in a whisky with surprising complexity and boldness — proof that sometimes, the best things happen by chance.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Rich and layered, with notes of honey, ripe pear, and a whisper of smoke. Hints of leather, spice, vanilla, and a light coastal breeze add intrigue.

Palate

Full-bodied and velvety. A beautiful balance of dried fruits, roasted nuts, oak, and a trace of peat. The influence of age is unmistakable, offering a depth rarely found in blended whisky.

Finish

Long, warm, and complex. Spicy undertones, a touch of smoke, and lingering sweetness. A dram that makes you pause – and reach for another sip.
