Nose

Port Dundas Distillery

Port Dundas Distillery was located in Glasgow, on the banks of the Forth and Clyde Canal, and was founded in 1811. This historic distillery played a crucial role in the production of grain whisky and was one of the largest distilleries in Scotland. Port Dundas merged with nearby Cowlairs Distillery in 1860, significantly increasing its production capacity.

A unique feature of Port Dundas was the use of continuous stills, which enabled efficient and large-scale production of grain whisky. The distillery produced whisky that was used in some of the most famous blends, such as Johnnie Walker and Haig. Port Dundas whiskies were known for their light, sweet and smooth flavour profile, with notes of vanilla, honey and subtle spices.

Port Dundas closed in 2010 and was later scrapped, but its whiskies remain a prized legacy among enthusiasts and collectors. Distilled in an iconic location and with a rich history, Port Dundas represents an important chapter in the Scotch whisky industry.
