North British 13 years 2011 - 2025 Select Grain

North British is one of Scotland’s largest and most renowned grain distilleries, based in Edinburgh. This 13-year-old single grain whisky, distilled in 2011 and bottled in 2025 as part of the Select Grain series, was finished in a unique combination of Murça port casks and Ximénez-Spínola Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. The result is an unusually rich and decadent grain whisky that blends sweetness, fruit and creamy texture in perfect harmony. Bottled at 51.7%, it delivers both depth and drinkability.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Lush and inviting with aromas of strawberry jam, grape juice and raisins. Beneath lie notes of vanilla, crème brûlée and a touch of almond liqueur.

Palate

Smooth and full-bodied with a velvety texture. Flavours of red berries, dates and milk chocolate are supported by caramel, cinnamon and a hint of mocha. The dual port and PX finish creates layered sweetness and depth.

Finish

Medium to long with a warm fade of sweet fruit, gentle oak, vanilla custard and a soft note of nutmeg.
