Glen Albyn is one of three closed distilleries that once stood in Inverness. Single malt from this distillery is rarely seen.

The majority ot its output was sold to blenders who used this single malt to produce their blended whiskies. Glen Albyn, like many other distilleries, closed its doors for good in 1983. This places Glen Albyn among the Closed Distilleries. Only a handful of official releases are known. The most famous is the Coleburn bottled by Diageo in the Rare Malts Selection. 

Independent bottlings like this one from Gordon & MacPhail have been slightly more common, but still fairly unique. There is only one known bottling from Gordon & MacPhail that was distilled in 1973. This particular version was bottled in the Connoisseurs Choice series.
