Port Ellen is the lost jewel in Islay's crown, closed by DCL (now Diageo) in 1983 due to an oversupply of peated whisky for blends and a lack of interest in it as a single malt. It has since developed legendary status. Diageo has released several distillery bottlings since its closure in 1983, but it is the independents who have given the whisky world the best chance to taste this sought after single malt.

Bottled by The Whisky Exchange, this is one of only 60 bottles exclusively filled for The Whisky Show 2012.
