Rosebank is a much sought after Lowland single malt. It was initially shortlisted by United Distillers as their Lowland entry in the Classic Malts range when it was launched in 1988, but was eventually replaced by Glenkinchie as it was thought to have greater tourism potential. Rosebank closed in 1993 but has recently been taken over by Ian Macleod Distillers, who are looking to revive this lost distillery.
This single cask bottling was distilled in 1991 and bottled in 2013 by Iain Mackillop and Co. as part of their Mackillop's Choice range.
Mackillop's Choice is a range of independent bottlings from Iain Mackillop & Co, a subsidiary of Angus Dundee, the London-based blend company that now also owns Glencadam and Tomintoul distilleries. Angus Dundee also produces the sister brand Mackullick's Choice for the French market, and the Montgomerie's brand.
