This unique expression has been partially matured in ex-Champagne casks from the prestigious house of Paul Launois, adding an elegant twist to the signature Ardnamurchan style. Tasting note

Nose

A refined and fresh aroma with notes of green apple, white grapes, and soft citrus, complemented by delicate floral hints. A subtle mineral note evokes wet limestone and chalk cliffs, while a gentle touch of peat smoke and vanilla lingers in the background.

Taste

The first sip reveals a creamy texture with flavors of ripe pear, honey, and freshly baked brioche. The Champagne cask influence brings forward delicate white wine aromas, perfectly balanced with light salinity and a hint of almond. The peat remains subtle but adds a beautiful depth to the flavor profile.

Finish

Long and elegant, with a lingering freshness of white grapes and lemon zest. A gentle touch of smoke remains, alongside soft notes of toasted nuts and buttery vanilla.

Ardnamurchan Distillery is located on the remote and scenic Ardnamurchan peninsula on the west coast of Scotland. Established in 2014 by Adelphi, a respected independent bottler, the distillery is known for its commitment to sustainability and traditional production methods. Ardnamurchan uses renewable energy sources such as hydroelectric power and wood pellet boilers.

The distillery produces both unpeated and peated whiskies, each with their own distinctive flavour profile. In contrast, the peated Ardnamurchan whiskies have a more robust profile, characterised by rich smoke notes and earthy influences, combined with hints of citrus and spice. These whiskies are more complex and have a deeper, more intense flavour.

Ardnamurchan whiskies are often constructed from both a combination of peated and unpeated whiskies and as a blend of bourbon cask and sherry cask matured single malts, which provides a nice balance and depth of flavours.
