Edradour 10 years The Distillery Edition 1825 - 2025

Edradour 10 years The Distillery Edition 1825 - 2025 is a special release created to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the distillery. Bottled at a slightly higher strength of 46%, this commemorative edition offers greater depth and intensity while retaining Edradour’s classic sherried style. The label proudly marks this bicentennial milestone, honouring two centuries of craftsmanship and Highland heritage.

Fully matured in Oloroso sherry casks, it is a rich and full-bodied whisky where fruit, malt and oak harmoniously intertwine. A fitting tribute to Edradour’s legacy – traditional in spirit, yet vibrant in expression.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Warm and inviting with raisins, toffee and dark chocolate. Hints of orange peel, nuts and spiced sherry add elegant complexity.

Palate

Full and creamy with flavours of caramel, honey and dried fruits. The Oloroso casks lend depth and richness, with notes of walnut, cinnamon and gentle oak. The higher ABV enhances structure and balance.

Finish

Long and warming with lingering chocolate, nuts and soft spice.

A special anniversary release that captures the essence of Edradour – rich, complex and perfectly balanced. A worthy celebration of 200 years of distilling tradition.

Edradour Distillery

Edradour Distillery is located in the picturesque highlands of Scotland, near the village of Pitlochry in Perthshire. Founded in 1825, Edradour is known as one of the smallest traditional distilleries in Scotland, which adds to the charm and exclusivity of the whisky.

A specific feature of Edradour is its artisan production, which still involves a lot of handwork. The distillery uses traditional copper pot stills and produces only a limited amount of whisky per year. This results in unique and carefully crafted single malts. Edradour whiskies are known for their rich and full flavour profiles, with notes of sherry, fruitcake, honey and spices. The whisky is mainly matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and sherry casks, which contributes to the complexity and depth of flavours.

The combination of historic charm, artisan production and rich flavour profiles makes Edradour a beloved name among whisky connoisseurs worldwide.

Edradour Distillery

Edradour Distillery lies in a sheltered valley near Pitlochry in Perthshire. It was founded in 1825 as a cooperative of local farmers, shortly after licensed whisky production became more attractive. Edradour survived periods of declining demand, overseas ownership and large-scale consolidation within the Scotch whisky industry. In 2002, Andrew Symington, founder of independent bottler Signatory Vintage, acquired the distillery from Pernod Ricard. Signatory then relocated to the site, where new warehouses, a bottling line and additional production space were created. Edradour also began producing the heavily peated Ballechin malt.

Despite this expansion, the historic farm distillery has remained largely intact. Edradour still uses an open cast-iron mash tun, Oregon pine washbacks, two small copper stills and traditional worm tubs. The Morton Refrigerator used to cool the wort is described by the distillery as the last working example of its kind in the whisky industry. Distillation, maturation and bottling all take place on site. This combination of small-scale manual production, rare old equipment and Signatory’s cask expertise is what makes Edradour exceptional.
