Edradour 10 years 2014 - 2025 St. Michael Eppan Sauvignon Cask Finish
Edradour, one of Scotland’s smallest distilleries, is known for its artisanal approach and unique maturation methods. This 10-year-old expression has been given a special finish in a St. Michael Eppan Sauvignon wine cask, resulting in a fresh and fruity character with a subtle spiciness. The wine cask influence adds an extra dimension to Edradour’s classic creamy style, making for a refined and intriguing whisky.
Tasting Notes
Nose
Fresh aromas of green apple, citrus, and peach, combined with floral notes and a touch of vanilla. A light hint of spices such as white pepper and mint adds complexity.
Palate
Soft and elegant with notes of tropical fruit, honey, and white grapes. The Sauvignon influence brings a fresh, slightly mineral touch, while subtle hints of almond and oak add depth.
Finish
Medium-long and refreshing with a delicate balance of citrus, soft spices, and a light wine-like sweetness. The finish remains subtle and refined.
Edradour Distillery
Edradour Distillery is located in the picturesque highlands of Scotland, near the village of Pitlochry in Perthshire. Founded in 1825, Edradour is known as one of the smallest traditional distilleries in Scotland, which adds to the charm and exclusivity of the whisky.
A specific feature of Edradour is its artisan production, which still involves a lot of handwork. The distillery uses traditional copper pot stills and produces only a limited amount of whisky per year. This results in unique and carefully crafted single malts. Edradour whiskies are known for their rich and full flavour profiles, with notes of sherry, fruitcake, honey and spices. The whisky is mainly matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and sherry casks, which contributes to the complexity and depth of flavours.
The combination of historic charm, artisan production and rich flavour profiles makes Edradour a beloved name among whisky connoisseurs worldwide.
