Glenturret 12 years 2024 Release
Glenturret, known as Scotland’s oldest working distillery, represents traditional craftsmanship and artisanal whisky production. This Glenturret 12 years is a stunning expression that captures the essence of the distillery. Maturation in carefully selected oak casks provides this whisky with a rich and deep complexity. The result is an elegant and well-balanced whisky with notes of fruit, spice, and a subtle wood influence.
Tasting note
Nose
Rich aromas of dried fruit, honey, and butterscotch, combined with hints of clove and cinnamon. Soft notes of toasted oak and a touch of citrus create a fresh and inviting scent.
Taste
Full-bodied and layered with a silky texture. Sweet caramel and vanilla are beautifully balanced by roasted nuts, orange zest, and light spices like nutmeg. A subtle influence of sherry casks adds extra depth.
Finish
Long and warming with lingering notes of dried fruit, spicy oak, and a delicate hint of cocoa. The gentle balance between sweetness and spice continues to resonate.
Glenturret Distillery
Glenturret Distillery is located in the picturesque area of Crieff, in the Scottish Highlands, on the banks of the River Turret. Founded in 1763, Glenturret is considered one of the oldest distilleries still operating in Scotland. With a rich history dating back to the illicit distilling practices of the 18th century, Glenturret has built a strong reputation.
A unique feature of Glenturret is the use of traditional production methods which contributes to the unique and high-quality whiskies. Glenturret single malts are known for their smooth, complex and well-balanced flavour profile, often with notes of fruit, honey, malt and a slight spiciness.
The whisky is mainly matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and sherry casks, creating a rich and refined flavour. The combination of an idyllic location, traditional techniques and high-quality whiskies makes Glenturret a respected name in the world of Scotch single malt whisky.
