Loch Lomond 24 years 2000 - 2024 Manzanilla Sherry Cask
As in previous years, Loch Lomond is the official "Spirit Of The Open. This prestigious golf tournament takes place on the historic 'Royal Troon' golf course. This year, the tournament will be held for the 152nd time.
This 24 year old Loch Lomond single malt pays tribute to all the people, players and golf courses that have been involved in The Open, from the first ever at Prestwick to the 152nd The Open this year at the 'Royal Troon'.
This rare whisky was crafted by Loch Lomond Master Distiller, Michael Henry. The journey begins in 1999 when the whisky was distilled through a combination of the unique Straight Neck pot stills and traditional Swan Neck stills. The distillate then spent most of its maturation period in American oak barrels. The whisky was then finished in beautiful Manzanilla sherry casks from Jerez. This has created a whisky with the distinctive elements of honey and soft smoke that Loch Lomond is known for, combined with the fruitiness of the Manzanilla sherry casks.

Loch Lomond Distillery
Loch Lomond Distillery is located in Alexandria, on the southern shore of Loch Lomond, in the Scottish Lowlands. Founded in 1964, the distillery has stood out for its innovative approach to whisky production. Its proximity to iconic Loch Lomond provides not only a beautiful setting, but also an excellent source of pure water.
A unique feature of Loch Lomond Distillery is its versatility in production. The distillery has both traditional pot stills and unique 'straight neck' pot stills, and produces both single malt and single grain whiskies. This flexibility allows Loch Lomond to create a wide range of flavour profiles, from light and fruity to rich, complex and even smoky whiskies.
Loch Lomond whiskies are known for their balanced and refined character, with notes of apple, pear, honey, and subtle hints of smoke and spice. The whisky is matured in a mix of ex-bourbon and sherry casks, creating a deep and complex flavour. The combination of innovation, traditional techniques and a beautiful location makes Loch Lomond Distillery a unique and respected name in the world of Scotch whisky.
