Ledaig 2007 - 2016 The Jubilee Bottling - Celebrating 20 years of JWWW
The Ledaig 2007 - 2016 Jubilee Bottling, released to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Jack Wieber Whisky World, is a unique and powerful single malt whisky. With only 120 bottles available and bottled at a cask strength of 52.8%, this expression is a true collector’s item. It combines the signature smoky and maritime style of Ledaig with the finesse of carefully selected casks. This bottling is a tribute to two decades of passion for whisky and a treat for fans of rich, peat-driven drams.
Tasting note
Nose
An intense aroma of peat smoke, salty sea air, and leather, combined with sweet notes of honey, caramelized apple, and vanilla. A subtle hint of citrus and pepper adds freshness and complexity.
Palate
Full-bodied and robust, with a powerful burst of smoke, complemented by flavors of ash, salted caramel, and dried apricot. The cask strength delivers a tingling intensity, while the fruity notes and light spices like ginger and clove blend harmoniously.
Finish
Long and warming, with lingering peat smoke, a touch of bitter chocolate, and a maritime salinity that beautifully lingers. A refined oak note provides an elegant conclusion.
Tobermory Distillery
Tobermory Distillery is located on the picturesque harbour of Tobermory on the Isle of Mull, on the west coast of Scotland. Founded in 1798, it is one of the oldest distilleries in Scotland and has a rich history with periods of closure and re-opening.
A specific feature of Tobermory Distillery is the production of two different types of whisky: the non-peated Tobermory and the heavily peated Ledaig.
Tobermory whisky is known for its fruity and floral character with notes of citrus and honey, while Ledaig whisky is characterised by its robust, smoky flavour with hints of pepper, sea salt and leather. Maturation takes place in a combination mix of bourbon and sherry casks, creating a rich and complex flavour.
The combination of an idyllic location, a long and rich history, and a diverse range of whiskies makes Tobermory Distillery a respected and beloved name in the world of Scotch whisky.
