Finlaggan Original is a mysterious Islay single malt whisky, with its exact distillery source kept strictly under wraps. What we do know: it’s a wonderfully peaty and approachable Islay that offers excellent value. This expression isn’t overly heavy – instead, it’s fresh, vibrant and surprisingly well balanced. For fans of peat and coastal influence, this is a great introduction to the Islay style – smoky enough to intrigue, yet subtle enough to enjoy.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Peat smoke and damp campfire, combined with notes of sea salt, ash, green apple and a light hint of citrus.

Palate

Bold yet smooth, with flavours of peat, smoked fish, white pepper and a touch of liquorice. Underneath: malt notes and a hint of lemon peel.

Finish

Medium length, dry and smoky with a salty edge and a touch of wood and black tea.
