Kilchoman 10 years Loch Gorm 2025 Edition

For Kilchoman, this is a special release. In fact, the Loch Gorm 2025 Edition is the first Loch Gorm to be aged for more than 10 years in Oloroso Sherry Butts. Anthony Wills personally selected 23 casks, of which 20 were first fill and three refill. This Islay whisky offers a rich, dark complexity that blends perfectly with the smoky, briny charm the island is so famous for. It is a limited edition that will bring a big smile to fans of peat and sherry alike. And with its non-chill filtering and natural colour, it stays true to its artisanal roots. In short: pure, powerful and perfectly balanced.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Intense and inviting, with notes of raisins, burnt caramel, leather, and roasted nuts. Underneath lies that signature Islay smoke—earthy and medicinal—intertwined with dark chocolate and a touch of salty seaweed.

Palate

Full-bodied and bold, offering a beautiful balance of peat smoke, sherry sweetness, and spice. Think stewed plums, orange peel, cinnamon, and roasted almonds. The smoke is prominent but allows the rich sherry influence to shine.

Finish

Long and warming. The peat lingers alongside dark fruit, espresso, and a hint of black pepper. An impressive grand finale.

Kilchoman Distillery

Kilchoman Distillery is located on the west coast of the island of Islay, near the small village of Kilchoman. Founded in 2005 by Anthony Wills, it is the first new distillery on Islay in more than 120 years. Kilchoman has quickly made a name for itself through its traditional approach to whisky production.

A unique feature of Kilchoman is that it is one of the few distilleries in Scotland to use a full "grain-to-glass" process. This means Kilchoman grows, malts, distils and matures its own barley on the grounds of Rockside Farm, where the distillery is located. This approach ensures exceptional control over the quality and character of their whisky.

Kilchoman whiskies are known for their robust and smoky profile, with pronounced notes of peat, fruit and spice. The distillery mainly uses ex-bourbon casks and sherry casks for maturation, which contributes to the complexity and depth of flavours.
