Daftmill 15 Years
Daftmill 15 Years is a stunning Lowland single malt from one of Scotland’s most exclusive farm distilleries. Distilled in 2009 and bottled in 2024, this whisky showcases Daftmill’s craftsmanship and seasonal production approach. Owned by the Cuthbert family, the distillery is known for its small-scale and artisanal production, resulting in exceptionally refined whiskies. The 15 years of maturation have created a beautifully balanced dram with fruity, floral, and creamy notes. Bottled at cask strength (55.9% ABV), this whisky offers an extra layer of depth and intensity.
Tasting Notes
Nose
Elegant and fresh aromas of green apple, ripe pear, and lemon zest, accompanied by floral hints of chamomile and freshly cut grass. Subtle notes of vanilla, honey, and light oak spices add extra complexity.
Taste
Soft and layered, with flavors of peach, apricot, and creamy vanilla custard. Hints of buttery shortbread, malty sweetness, and a touch of almond create a beautiful balance. The oak influence subtly emerges with light spices like white pepper and nutmeg.
Finish
Long and refined, with lingering fruity and floral notes, a gentle hint of oak, and a light creamy finish. The subtle spiciness and fresh citrus notes elegantly linger.
Daftmill Distillery
Daftmill Distillery is located in the heart of Fife, Scotland, on a working farm owned by the Cuthbert family since 1984. Founded in 2005 by Francis Cuthbert, Daftmill is one of the few distilleries that runs entirely on seasonal production, distilling whisky during the quieter farming months of summer and winter.
A specific feature of Daftmill is the use of its own barley, grown on the farm, which ensures complete control over the quality of the base ingredient. The distillery has two traditional copper pot stills and produces a limited quantity of whisky, highlighting the exclusivity and high quality of their products. Daftmill whiskies are known for their smooth, fruity and floral character, with notes of apple, pear and honey. Maturation takes place in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks, contributing to the complexity and depth of flavour profiles Daftmill offers.
