Lindores Thiron Inaugural Release 2024
Lindores Thiron 2024 is distilled from barley sourced from the Kingdom of Fife and matured in a unique combination of casks: French virgin oak, bourbon, and wine barriques. This careful selection of casks creates a rich complexity and depth, with each cask type making its own flavour contribution to the whisky. The alcohol content of 49.4% gives the whisky a powerful expression without being overpowering.
Tasting note
Nose
Rich aromas of vanilla and soft honey, mixed with subtle notes of dried fruits and spices. There is a hint of oak, from the virgin oak casks, which adds a warm and inviting aroma.
Taste
A full and round palate that starts with sweet notes of caramel and butterscotch, followed by a rich layer of red fruits and a subtle hint of spice. The wine barriques add a slight fruitiness and elegance, while the bourbon casks bring in a classic touch of vanilla and light spice.
Finish
Long and warming, with lingering notes of oak, spice, and a slight hint of red fruit. The finish is balanced and offers a pleasant, soft sweetness that lingers for a long time.
Lindores Distillery
Lindores Abbey Distillery is located in Newburgh, Fife, on the banks of the River Tay in Scotland. Established in 2017, the distillery is located on the historic site of Lindores Abbey, where, according to historical sources, the first written mention of whisky production in Scotland took place in 1494.
The distillery combines modern craftsmanship with a deep respect for its historical roots. Lindores Abbey uses locally grown barley and water from a nearby spring. The production process includes traditional copper pot stills, contributing to the production of a quality single malt whisky. Lindores Abbey's whisky is known for its fruity and spicy character, with subtle hints of apple, cinnamon and vanilla.
A specific feature of Lindores Abbey Distillery is its commitment to sustainability, with a focus on renewable energy sources and environmentally friendly practices
