Benrinnes Port Cask Finish
Tasting note
Nose
The port finish has imparted a lovely soft-sweet fragrance to this dram. Chocolate with fruit and sultanas are scents that make us smile. Lovely full aroma that encourages us to take a nice sip,
Taste
Young and lively, powerful yet mild. Spicy with a little sweetness. Fruity but certainly not too fruity. Actually, the taste is nicely balanced and we are pleasantly surprised.
Finish
The aftertaste is medium-long with the hint of port clearly perceptible.
Extra information
Since 1994, we've been leading the way in the art of whisky maturation; crafting exciting Scotch whisky by finishing fine spirit in great oak casks.
Selection
The finish takes place in Tawny Port barrique from Caves de Murca, Portugal.

Benrinnes Distillery
Benrinnes Distillery is located in the Speyside region, at the foot of Mount Ben Rinnes, near Aberlour in Moray. Founded in 1826 by Peter Mackenzie, the distillery has a long and rich history, although it has been rebuilt several times due to fires and floods.
A unique feature of Benrinnes is its use of partial triple distillation, a rare technique in Scotland that produces a more complex spirit. The distillery uses pure spring water from Mount Ben Rinnes, which contributes to the clarity and quality of their whiskies.
Benrinnes whiskies are known for their rich, full-bodied and robust flavour profiles, with notes of chocolate, dried fruit and a hint of spiciness. The whiskies are mainly matured in ex-bourbon and sherry casks, making for a deep, complex and layered flavour experience.
Although Benrinnes is primarily used in blended whiskies, their single malts are highly prized by connoisseurs for their unique character and depth. The combination of an idyllic location, unique distilling techniques and high-quality production makes Benrinnes a respected name in the world of Scotch whisky.
