Glen Keith Distillery

Glen Keith Distillery is located in the heart of the Speyside region, near the town of Keith in Moray. Founded in 1957 by the firm Chivas Brothers, Glen Keith has relatively modern origins compared to most other Scottish distilleries. The distillery was originally built to experiment with new production methods and innovations within the whisky industry.

A unique feature of Glen Keith is the use of water from nearby Balloch Hill, which contributes to the purity and freshness of their whiskies. Glen Keith whiskies are known for their light, fruity and floral flavour profiles, with notes of citrus, green apple, pear and a subtle hint of spice. The distillery uses traditional copper pot stills and a slow distillation process, ensuring a balanced and refined spirit.

The whiskies are mainly matured in ex-bourbon casks, which ensures a soft and smooth flavour. Although Glen Keith mainly produces for blends, such as Chivas Regal, their single malts are also loved by connoisseurs. Murray McDavid is an independent Scottish bottler founded in 1994 by Mark Reynier, Simon Coughlin, and Gordon Wright. The company is known for its innovative approach to whisky, focusing on selecting high-quality casks and experimenting with unique maturation processes.

Murray McDavid bottles whisky from different distilleries, both single malts and blended malts, and often introduces secondary maturities in different types of casks, such as wine, rum or sherry casks, to create complex flavour profiles. They have several series such as "Mission Gold," "Benchmark," and "Cask Craft."

An important aspect of Murray McDavid is their focus on transparency. In 2013, Murray McDavid was acquired by Aceo Ltd, which expanded their ability to continue producing unique whiskies.
