Tasting Notes

Nose

Rich and warming with notes of raisins, dates, candied fruit and dark chocolate. Hints of orange peel and roasted nuts add complexity.

Palate

Full and creamy, with sherry sweetness, mocha, clove and a touch of oak. Subtle spices and fruitcake round it out beautifully.

Finish

Long and warming, with hints of cinnamon, cocoa and a light oaky dryness.

Glenfarclas Distillery

Glenfarclas Distillery is located in the heart of the Speyside region, at the foot of Mount Ben Rinnes in Ballindalloch. Founded in 1836 by Robert Hay and owned by the Grant family since 1865, Glenfarclas has a rich history of more than a century and a half in producing high-quality single malt whiskies. This distillery prides itself on its independence and family management, which contributes to the consistent quality and character of their products.

A unique feature of Glenfarclas is the use of directly fired copper pot stills, which contributes to the rich and full flavour of their whiskies. The distillery uses pure spring water from nearby springs on the Ben Rinnes, providing a pure and fresh base for their whisky.

Glenfarclas whiskies are known for their rich, complex flavour profiles, with notes of sherry, dried fruit and spices. The whiskies are mainly matured in ex-Oloroso sherry casks, creating a deep, sweet and layered flavour experience.
