Description

Glenfiddich 26 Years Grande Couronne is a distinctly luxurious expression from one of the world’s most iconic distilleries, Glenfiddich Distillery. After long maturation in American and European oak, the whisky receives an elegant finishing period in French cognac casks. This additional ageing elevates the whisky to a near-patisserie level of richness, while fully preserving its Speyside elegance. Grande Couronne is refined, indulgent and clearly crafted as a statement release for those who appreciate depth and softness.

Tasting note
Nose

Rich and inviting with aromas of brioche, candied pear and vanilla cream. Notes of almond, gentle oak and a touch of cinnamon follow, layered with subtle wine-like depth from the cognac casks.

Palate

Silky and full-bodied with flavours of honey, crème brûlée and dried stone fruits. The cognac finish adds refined sweetness, gentle spice and a creamy texture that blends beautifully with mature oak.

Finish

Long and velvety with lingering patisserie notes, soft spices and a warm, lightly nutty close.

Glenfiddich Distillery

Glenfiddich was founded in 1887 by William Grant in Dufftown, in the heart of Speyside. Together with his wife Elizabeth, seven sons and two daughters, he built the distillery largely by hand. The first spirit flowed from its copper stills on Christmas Day that year. The name Glenfiddich means ‘Valley of the Deer’ in Gaelic, reflected in the distillery’s famous emblem.

The distillery remains owned by the Grant family. During the 1960s, Glenfiddich was among the first producers to actively introduce single malt Scotch whisky beyond Scotland. Its distinctive triangular bottle and international promotion helped transform single malt from a relatively small category into a worldwide phenomenon.

Glenfiddich is known for an approachable, fruity Speyside style, with pear, apple, honey, vanilla and gentle oak. The quality of its spirit allows both vibrant younger whiskies and long-matured expressions to flourish. With a broad range and a strong tradition of experimenting with cask maturation, Glenfiddich combines family heritage with continuous innovation.
