Tasting note

Colour

Dark amber

Nose

A rich and complex aroma with deep sherry notes (raisins, dates, sultanas) and a beautiful oaky sweetness. Additin of a little water releases a vibrant, spicy character with hints of vanilla, butterscotch and polished leather.

Taste

A wonderful balance of rich oak notes and sweet, fruity spice. Initially very intense with lots of tannin and mouth coating wood flavour. After a few minutes a subtle vanilla sweetness and gentle fruity character develops (baked apple, rhubarb, ripe pears). The layers of flavour continue to unfold ove a very long period meandering from oak to sweet to fruity to spicy and back again.

Finish

Very long and lingering with a warm, zweet afterglow.

This rare Glenfiddich Single Malt Scotch Whisky was specially selected by the Glenfiddich Malt Master from our limited stocks of Glenfiddich Vintage Reserve.

This unique single malt Scotch whisky was bottled at The Glenfiddich Distillery on 20th August 2008 from Cask No. 4414 having matured for at least 31 years.

This bottle No. 279 is one of the limited edition of 482 bottles.

Glenfiddich Distillery

Glenfiddich Distillery is located in Dufftown, in Scotland's iconic Speyside region.
