Glenfiddich Distillery

Glenfiddich Distillery is located in Dufftown, in Scotland's iconic Speyside region. Founded in 1887 by William Grant, Glenfiddich is one of the few distilleries that has remained in family ownership since its inception. The distillery is located on the banks of the River Fiddich, whose name means "Valley of the Deer", symbolising its rich natural environment.

A unique feature of Glenfiddich is the use of spring water from the Robbie Dhu springs, which contributes to the purity and character of their whiskies. Glenfiddich is known for its innovative approach and was one of the first distilleries to export their single malt whisky worldwide.

Glenfiddich was founded in 1887 by William Grant in Dufftown, in the heart of Speyside. Together with his wife Elizabeth, seven sons and two daughters, he built the distillery largely by hand. The first spirit flowed from its copper stills on Christmas Day that year. The name Glenfiddich means ‘Valley of the Deer’ in Gaelic, reflected in the distillery’s famous emblem.

The distillery remains owned by the Grant family. During the 1960s, Glenfiddich was among the first producers to actively introduce single malt Scotch whisky beyond Scotland. Its distinctive triangular bottle and international promotion helped transform single malt from a relatively small category into a worldwide phenomenon.

Glenfiddich is known for an approachable, fruity Speyside style, with pear, apple, honey, vanilla and gentle oak. The quality of its spirit allows both vibrant younger whiskies and long-matured expressions to flourish. With a broad range and a strong tradition of experimenting with cask maturation, Glenfiddich combines family heritage with continuous innovation.
