With its elegant balance between fruity and malty notes, enhanced by the higher bottling strength, this whisky delivers a deep and layered tasting experience.
Tasting Notes
Nose
Fresh and vibrant with notes of green apples, ripe pears, and citrus zest. Subtle floral hints and a touch of vanilla are supported by light oak and almond undertones.
Taste
Full and creamy with a pronounced maltiness. Sweet honey and toffee transition into flavors of yellow stone fruit and a hint of spice from white pepper and nutmeg. A delicate touch of freshly cut grass adds extra freshness.
Finish
Long and smooth, with lingering fruitiness and subtle oak and spice notes. A light hint of almonds and a touch of citrus provide a refreshing and well-balanced conclusion.
Glenlossie Distillery
Glenlossie Distillery is located in the Speyside region of Scotland, near the town of Elgin in Moray. Founded in 1876 by John Duff, Glenlossie has a rich history of producing high-quality single malt whiskies. Picturesquely situated in a valley surrounded by green hills, the distillery uses pure spring water from nearby Millbuies Springs, which contributes to the purity of their whiskies.
A unique feature of Glenlossie is the use of so-called "purifiers" on the stills, a technique that helps create a lighter and purer spirit. Glenlossie whiskies are known for their delicate and refined flavour profiles, with notes of grass, green apple, pear and a subtle hint of spice. The whiskies are mainly matured in ex-bourbon casks, which ensures a smooth and balanced flavour.
Although Glenlossie primarily produces blended whiskies, such as the well-known Haig blends, their single malts are also highly prized for their finesse and complexity. The combination of an idyllic location, unique production processes and high-quality whiskies makes Glenlossie a respected name in the world of Scotch whisky.
