Tasting note
Nose
Delicate aromas of vanilla, honey, and ripe pear, with subtle hints of citrus zest and a touch of spices like cinnamon. A light floral note and a hint of almond add extra refinement.
Palate
Silky and rounded, with notes of creamy toffee, juicy apple, and peach. The bourbon cask influence shines through with layers of vanilla, coconut, and a hint of ginger. The gentle wood influence adds structure without overpowering the fruity character.
Finish
Medium-length and elegant, with lingering notes of honey, soft spices, and a subtle oak freshness. A hint of citrus provides a refreshing conclusion.
Strathmill Distillery
Strathmill Distillery is located in the charming town of Keith, in Scotland's famous Speyside region. Founded in 1891, the distillery was originally built as a flour mill under the name Glenisla-Glenlivet, before being converted into a distillery. Strathmill takes its name from the Gaelic words for "valley" (Strath) and "mill" (mill), reflecting the site's history.
A unique feature of Strathmill is the use of purifiers on the stills, a rare technique that makes for a lighter and softer spirit. The distillery draws its water from nearby Isla River springs, which contributes to the purity of their whiskies. Strathmill whiskies are known for their light, fresh and fruity flavour profiles, with notes of apple, pear, vanilla and a subtle hint of grassy herbs.
The whiskies are mainly matured in ex-bourbon casks, which ensures a delicate and refined flavour. Although Strathmill mainly produces for blended whiskies such as J&B and Dunhill, it also offers single malt expressions. The combination of historical roots, unique production methods and commitment to quality makes Strathmill a respected name in the world of Scotch whisky.
