Great Lakes Dirty Helen Barrel Proof Rye is a Straight Rye Whiskey for enthusiasts who like their rye without restraint. The mash bill consists entirely of rye, made up of 80% malted rye and 20% unmalted rye, all sourced from Wisconsin. The unusually high proportion of malted rye is particularly interesting, adding toasted grain, bready notes and additional texture alongside the grain's characteristic spice.

The whiskey matures in new charred American oak barrels before being bottled directly at natural barrel strength. The exact ABV therefore varies from release to release. There is no standard proof here, just a whiskey bottled as close as possible to the character of the cask. Rye, charred oak and barrel proof come together in a powerful and concentrated whiskey filled with dark fruit, nuts, chocolate, leather and pronounced spice.
