Nose

Rich and aromatic with apricot jam, orange blossom and juicy peach. Sultanas, honey and milk chocolate are followed by malted biscuits, cardamom and gentle pepper.

Palate

Full and syrupy with green grapes, peach tea and candied citrus. Barley sugar, sultanas and vanilla meet toasted malt, honey and dark caramel. Warming spices and firm oak balance the generous fruit character.

Finish

Pleasantly persistent with dried apricot, honey and pepper. Floral Moscatel notes, raisins and warming oak spices linger beautifully.

St. Kilian Distillers is a German whisky distillery from Bavaria, founded in 2012 by whisky enthusiast Andreas Thümmler, Irish whiskey expert David F. Hynes and brewer and distiller Mario Rudolf. They transformed a former textile factory into a distillery inspired by Scottish and Irish whisky making. The first spirit flowed from the stills on St Patrick’s Day in 2016, followed in May 2019 by First Kilian, the company’s first three-year-old single malt.

St. Kilian makes its whisky from malted barley and distils in two large copper pot stills built by Scotland’s Forsyths. The distillery produces both unpeated and heavily peated single malt and is particularly known for its broad use of casks. Alongside bourbon and sherry casks, it works with wine, rum, brandy and unusual types of oak, creating a wide variety of styles.

The range includes a permanent core collection, limited Signature Editions, single casks and special collaborations with film and music icons. The name honours the Irish missionary Kilian. By combining technical precision, experimentation and international whisky influences, St. Kilian has become a leading name in German single malt whisky.
