Description

Teeling revived Dublin’s whiskey story when the distillery opened in 2015 as the city’s first new distillery in over 125 years. Rising Reserve No.3 is built for the connoisseur: a 21 year single malt, matured long in ex bourbon then finished in ruby port casks, bottled at 46% with no chill filtration, and released in limited numbers. This is the kind of bottle you pour slowly, because it’s both elegant and layered. Expect a creamy, fruit led whiskey with port depth, warm spice, and a long, velvety finish.

Tasting note
Nose

Rich red fruits arrive first, think cherry and dried apricot. Honey, vanilla, and a touch of toasted nuts follow. A hint of cocoa and gentle spice adds a luxurious edge.

Palate

Full and creamy, with brown sugar and ripe fruit flowing through the centre. The port influence brings a darker, wine like richness without turning sticky. Cinnamon, oak tannins, and a slight bitter note keep it structured and mature.

Finish

Long and warming, with fruit, spice, and an elegant drying oak note. Something lightly floral lingers alongside cocoa and citrus peel. It closes polished, clearly made with enthusiasts in mind.

Teeling Distillery

Teeling Whiskey Company was founded in 2012 by brothers Jack and Stephen Teeling. Their family’s involvement in Irish whiskey dates back to 1782, when Walter Teeling established a small distillery on Marrowbone Lane in Dublin. In 2015, the brothers opened a new distillery at Newmarket Square in the historic Liberties district. It was Dublin’s first new whiskey distillery in more than 125 years, bringing production back to a city that was once one of the world’s great whiskey centres.

The distillery operates three copper pot stills and produces spirit for styles including single pot still, single malt and peated malt whiskey. Triple distillation creates a smooth foundation, while Teeling distinguishes itself through long fermentations and a strong interest in unusual cask types. Alongside bourbon and sherry wood, the company uses rum, port, Madeira, wine and various forms of virgin oak.

Teeling is known for fruit-forward, lively Irish whiskey with considerable attention to texture, spice and cask influence. Its combination of historic family roots, modern distillation and creative maturation has made the brand an important name in the revival of Dublin whiskey.
