Viticulture
These vines come from the Baixo Corgo and Cima Corgo sub-regions and are planted in old vines and terraces with different exposures and altitudes.
Winemaking
Grapes, from a single harvest, are harvested manually in small transport crates and made into wine using the traditional port method. After partial destemming, the grapes are crushed by foot in stone presses. Fermentation of the must takes place under controlled temperature and is interrupted by the addition of brandy. As produced, this wine has great ageing potential.
Ageing
Wine from one harvest, aged in oak barrels for a period of at least 7 years. The year of bottling is indicated on the label.
Consumption
Pleasant with dried fruits such as almonds, sultanas, peaches and apricots. It also goes well with sweet desserts, with eggs or cakes with dried fruit, coffee and vanilla. However, it is also a drink that can be perfectly enjoyed on its own, chilled or as the conclusion of a meal. As port is a natural product, there is a chance of deposits forming in the bottle.
Conservation
Bottle upright at a constant temperature and protected from light. After opening, preferably consume within 1 to 4 months.
Tasting note
Colour
Dark golden colour, with brownish nuances.
Nose
Balanced and elegant wine, in which fig notes stand out, delicate dry fruit and vanilla notes, thanks to ageing in oak barrels.
Taste
Full-bodied wine, well-balanced and with great texture. Flavours of sultanas, honey and chocolate.
Finish
Long and lingering finish.
