Description

Zenato Bardolino 2024

This is the kind of uncomplicated Italian red you’ll want to keep around all the time. Bardolino isn’t about big statements—it’s about pure drinking pleasure: light, juicy and always friendly. Zenato makes it clean and well-balanced, exactly as it should be.

Tasting Note

Colour

Light ruby red, bright and inviting.

Nose

Fresh cherry, strawberry and redcurrant, with a subtle spicy touch of white pepper and a hint of violets.

Palate

Dry and supple, full of bright red fruit in a fresh, lively style. Think cherry and raspberry, a touch of cranberry and gentle spice. Soft tannins, crisp acidity and a light-bodied feel make this dangerously easy to drink.

Finish

Fresh and fairly short, with red fruit and a small bitter twist that keeps it nicely taut.

Food Pairing

Perfect with pizza margherita, tomato-based pasta, antipasti, charcuterie and grilled vegetables. Also great with grilled chicken or a simple schnitzel. And it’s a wine you can absolutely serve slightly chilled, especially in spring and summer.

Producer

Zenato is a trusted name in Veneto, known for consistently well-made wines. This Bardolino shows the region at its most drinkable: light, fruity and fresh, with just enough spice to keep it interesting.

Zenato

Zenato is a family-owned winery from Veneto in northern Italy, founded in 1960 by Sergio Zenato and his wife Carla Prospero. From their home near Lake Garda, they gradually built a wine estate centred on a love of their craft, curiosity and respect for the region. Sergio was always willing to look beyond established conventions. He recognised the potential of vineyards and wine regions that were still developing and combined tradition with an open-minded view of the future.

Over the years, the family expanded its activities into the hills of Valpolicella. In this way, Zenato developed into a winery that expresses different sides of Veneto while allowing each area to retain its own identity. Today, the company is continued by the next generation, building on the same family values. The family remains closely involved in both the vineyards and winemaking and continually seeks a balance between experience and innovation. This personal approach and strong connection to the region form the recognisable foundations of Zenato.
