Duca di Salaparuta Lavico Etna Rosso 2020

Guiseppe Alliata, the Duke of Salaparuta, founded this estate in 1824 to produce good wine for his guests. In the late 19th century, under the leadership of Guiseppe's son Edward, the winery grew into Italy's most successful wine exporter. He hired a French winemaker to ensure that only the latest technology would be used.

Duca di Salaparuta's wines reflect the ongoing seduction and passion of Sicily. All wines are unique in expression due to local idiosyncrasies combined with traditions in winemaking. The common thread running through Duca di Salaparuta's production is the strength of the soil on which the vines for each individual wine grow. Traditional, indigenous grape varieties are combined with international varieties, giving them a refined range of innovative wines.

Duca di Salaparuta Lavico Rosso is intense, spicy and complex with rich sensations, notes of fruit and vanilla together.

The wine is obtained from Nerello Mascalese grapes. This is a grape native to the Etna area that surprises with lots of body, good structure and elegance, coming from the volcanic terroir. Truly a personality all its own!
