Pipoli Greco Fiano

This is the kind of white you reach for when you want freshness, but with more flavour and bite than a simple thirst-quencher. Blending Greco and Fiano gives you citrusy drive and tension, plus a slightly rounder, more textured side. Crisp, juicy, and very easy to pour a second glass.

Tasting Note

Colour

Pale straw yellow with a fresh greenish tint.

Nose

Citrus and yellow apple, with white peach, blossom, and a herbal touch reminiscent of fennel and Mediterranean herbs. In the background, a light mineral, almost salty edge.

Palate

Dry and lively, with bright acidity and a smooth, gently rounded mid-palate. Lime, grapefruit and stone fruit lead, followed by almond, a subtle bitter twist and gentle spice. Focused and energetic, yet never thin.

Finish

Clean and refreshing, lingering on citrus, almond and a lightly mineral bitterness.

Food Pairing

Very versatile: perfect with shellfish, grilled fish, sushi, and salads with fennel or citrus. Also great with lighter pasta dishes with lemon and herbs, or chicken with Mediterranean flavours. As an aperitif it works surprisingly well too, thanks to that extra bit of character.

Producer

Pipoli, from Basilicata, is known for wines that feel pure and energetic, with a clear focus on freshness. This Greco Fiano is a great example: sunny in flavour, but made in a crisp style that stays bright and highly drinkable. A strong all-round white with a distinctly Italian edge.
