Producer

Domaine des Genèves is a small, traditional estate in Chablis focused on terroir-driven Chardonnay. With respect for soil and climate, they craft wines defined by freshness, precision, and authenticity — a true reflection of classic Chablis style.

Domaine des Genèves

Domaine des Genèves is a family-owned estate from the Chablis wine region in northern Burgundy, France. The family has cultivated vineyards here for generations and established the present domaine in 1973. Today, the estate is managed by Stéphane Aufrère, who continues the work of his parents and earlier generations. Its name refers to the plot on which the winery stands. Small juniper bushes growing on the limestone-rich soils have traditionally been known locally as ‘genèves’.

The estate comprises approximately 21 hectares of vineyards and produces Bourgogne Chardonnay, Petit Chablis, Chablis and wines from the Premier Cru vineyards Les Fourneaux, Vaucoupin and Mont de Milieu. All wines are made from Chardonnay grown in the estate’s own vineyards, then matured and bottled at the domaine. Limestone-rich soils containing fossilised deposits give the wines their characteristic freshness and minerality. Domaine des Genèves combines traditional winegrowing with a precise and controlled approach, aiming to preserve the individual character of each vineyard parcel.
