The Châteauneuf du Pape blanc 2021 Isabel FERRANDO is produced on two HA in the "Saint Prefert" district, two parcels which each bring their own complexity to this great wine. Two main grape varieties come together in this wine, the Roussanne for the sensuality of Provence, the acacia flower and the sweetness, and the delicate Clairette for its salinity and freshness.

From now on, this great wine of Cru succeeds its elder brother of Saint Prefert. It is vinified in glass globes and in foudres. The purity of the freshness conferred by the fermentation in glass, and the salinity and tension offered by the 12 HL oak foudres aged of two wines, ensure a great capacity for ageing for this white Châteauneuf du Pape.

This Châteauneuf du Pape " Famille Isabel FERRANDO " is complex, long and very well balanced. With the 2020 vintage, it inaugurates the first chapter in the new history of the blending of the sunny terroirs of our vines ; terroir of pebbles, blue clay, gravel and sand.

6 months in two years old oak foudres and glass globes.

Tasting Comments

This white wine stands out from other Châteauneuf du Pape by its freshness and smoothness. From a sunny terroir in the SAINT PREFERT district, it reproduces all the minerality of a granitic soil gently worked and harvested without excess. Very well balanced, it shows a concern for balance and energy.

A juicy and salivating attack, a salty mid-palate, a long and acidic finish. The nose of acacia and lime blossom opens onto a floral palate of jasmine and rosehip and pulpy fruit, pears and yellow peaches. The organic and biodynamic management allows us to achieve the right level of maturity without excessive alcohol and with remarkable natural acidity.
