Colour

Bright pale yellow with fresh green highlights.

Aroma

Crisp and elegant aromas of green apple, pear, and citrus, complemented by wet stone, a hint of honey, and subtle floral notes.

Dry and focused with flavours of crunchy white fruit and citrus. Lively acidity gives the wine energy and precision, while Chenin Blanc provides structure and depth. Lean yet concentrated, with excellent balance.

Finish

Long, fresh, and taut, with a persistent mineral impression.

Food Pairing

Excellent with seafood, shellfish, oysters, grilled fish, sushi, asparagus, and refined dishes with bright acidity. Also very suitable as a gastronomic aperitif.

Producer

Domaine Denis Meunier is a small family-run estate in Vouvray, fully dedicated to Chenin Blanc. The domaine works in a clean, precise style, focusing on freshness, structure, and ageing potential. Expression de Silex perfectly reflects this philosophy: clear, focused, and crafted with quality in mind.

Domaine Denis Meunier

Domaine Denis Meunier is a family-owned estate from Vouvray in France’s Loire Valley. The history of the vineyard began in 1921, when Denis Meunier’s great-grandfather planted the first vines. In 1981, his father and uncle took over the estate and expanded the property. Today, Denis represents the fourth generation and manages approximately 15.5 hectares of vineyards, combining generations of family knowledge with a precise and contemporary approach.

The vineyards are situated on slopes and in valleys with clay, limestone, flint and silica-rich soils. Chenin Blanc lies at the heart of the estate and is used to produce several styles of Vouvray, ranging from dry and off-dry to richly sweet and sparkling wines made by the traditional method. Many parcels contain vines over 35 years old. By working plot by plot, controlling yields and harvesting at the right moment, Denis Meunier aims to express the differences in soil and position as clearly as possible. The result is a versatile collection centred on freshness, ripe fruit, fine minerality and natural balance.
