Talisker 10 years 'Map Label' Bot. 1990's
From a private collection, we were able to acquire this aged Talisker. This 10-year-old is believed to have been bottled in the 1990s. As you can see from the photos, the packaging has quite a bit of damage, but this was taken into account when setting the price.
Tasting note
Nose
The first inhale brings out a spicy, smoky peat aroma, very characteristic of whiskies from the Talisker distillery. Beyond that, hints of sea air and iodine unfold, mixed with a subtle fruitiness and a hint of malt.
Taste
On the tongue, this Talisker presents itself with a full and rich character. Powerful smoke and peat flavours are intertwined with a slightly salty, maritime quality. Balancing soft sweetness from caramel and ripe fruit softens the sharpness, accompanied by a hint of black pepper and spiciness that provides depth and complexity.
Finish
The finish is long and warm with lingering smokiness and a slight dryness. Oak and spicy notes linger, with a final nod to sea salt and seaweed conveying the spirit of the Scottish islands.
