Irish whiskey, yes indeed with an e. The Irish claim that they were the first to produce whiskey in the British Isles. A claim that the Scots also agree with. The fact is that there is talk of distilling, mainly from grains, as far back as the early 14th century. The Irish Bishop Ledred wrote "the Red Book of Ossory" and is considered in Ireland as The Godfather of Whiskey.
