Nose

Light and inviting aromas of vanilla, honey, and toasted oak. Subtle notes of freshly cut grass and green apple add freshness, while a hint of sherry and soft spices provide depth.

Taste

Smooth and creamy with notes of sweet malt, vanilla, and ripe peach. Hints of toffee and roasted nuts add complexity, while a gentle spiciness of cinnamon and nutmeg offers warmth.

Finish

Medium-length and velvety smooth. The sweetness of vanilla and caramel lingers, followed by a light spicy undertone and a soft oak touch.

Jameson is one of the best-known Irish whiskey brands and traces its origins to Dublin, where Scottish businessman John Jameson became associated with the Bow Street Distillery in 1780. Under several generations of the family, the distillery grew into a vast operation during the nineteenth century, renowned for its robust pot still whiskey and close attention to quality.

Following difficult decades for the Irish whiskey industry, John Jameson & Son merged with John Power & Son and Cork Distilleries Company in 1966 to form Irish Distillers. Production of Jameson moved from Bow Street to Midleton Distillery in County Cork in 1975. The historic Dublin site was preserved and now serves as the brand’s visitor experience.

Jameson Original is a blend of triple-distilled single pot still and grain whiskey. Maturation in former bourbon and fortified-wine casks creates a smooth, balanced style with notes of vanilla, fruit, gentle spice and sweet oak. Alongside the classic expression, the range includes Black Barrel, older bottlings, Caskmates and various limited releases. Jameson has therefore grown into a worldwide symbol of Irish whiskey.
