Tasting Notes

Nose

Full and layered with dried apricot, raisins and orange peel, yet with plenty of space thanks to the refill nature. Behind that: apple, pear and lemon oil, followed by walnut, almond and a soft beeswax touch. With time, tea leaves, leather and polished oak appear, with fine spice leaning toward ginger and nutmeg.

Palate

Powerful and oily with a fine balance between fruit and dry sherry structure. Honey, citrus zest and ripe orchard fruit first, then it shifts toward nutty depth with cocoa, toasted almond and a faint espresso like bitterness. The 56.2% brings a firm backbone, with spicy oak, black pepper and a subtle tannic grip keeping it focused.

Finish

Long and elegantly drying with lingering orange peel, nuts and cocoa. Toward the end: more tea, spicy oak and a warm, lightly bitter echo that pulls you back for another sip.

Knockdhu Distillery
