Strathisla Distillery

Strathisla Distillery is located in the picturesque town of Keith, in the Speyside region of Scotland. Founded in 1786, Strathisla is the oldest operating distillery in the Scottish Highlands. The distillery was originally built by George Taylor and Alexander Milne under the name Milltown Distillery, but later changed to Strathisla, referring to the nearby river Isla.

A unique feature of Strathisla is its traditional and charming architecture, with distinctive pagoda roofs and an idyllic riverside location. Strathisla uses spring water from the Fons Bullen spring, which contributes to the purity and quality of their whiskies.

Strathisla whiskies are known for their smooth and elegant flavour profiles, with notes of honey, fruitcake and a subtle hint of spiciness. The whiskies are mainly matured in ex-bourbon and sherry casks, which ensures a deep colour and complex aromas. Strathisla plays a crucial role in the production of Chivas Regal blends, but also offers excellent single malt expressions.
