Yamazaki Distiller’s Reserve is Suntory’s blender driven take on Yamazaki without an age statement, designed to showcase the distillery’s core style: fruit, finesse, and a distinctly Japanese oak signature. Expect a perfumed red fruit nose with Mizunara tones, a soft fruit led palate with white peach and a touch of coconut, and a clean finish landing on vanilla and cinnamon.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Elegant and perfumed, with red fruits that read fresh and precise rather than liqueur like: strawberry, cherry and a raspberry lift. Behind that comes the Japanese oak corner with Mizunara: sandalwood, a gentle incense note and a fine spicy wood oil edge. With time, a little dried fruit and soft vanilla join in.

Palate

Silky and neatly composed. Raspberry and white stone fruit, especially white peach, take the lead, with a creamy note leaning toward white chocolate and vanilla. The coconut stays subtle, more a gentle oak sweetness than a loud tropical note. A light spice accent in the background keeps it focused.

Finish

Clean and medium in length with sweet vanilla, a hint of cinnamon and a perfumed Mizunara oak note that lingers without turning bitter.
