Jamaica VRW 2017 - 2024 Single Cask Planteray Rum

Tasting note

Nose

The Jamaica VRW 2017 opens with an explosion of tropical aromas, with green banana, pineapple and mango immediately striking. The distinctive funky esters of Jamaican rum are evident, complemented by notes of fermented sugarcane and a hint of solvent. Subtle nuances of vanilla and toasted coconut provide balance.

Taste

On the palate, powerful flavours of overripe tropical fruits such as guava and passion fruit emerge, mixed with a slight spiciness of cinnamon and nutmeg. The rum has a full mouthfeel, with Jamaica's funky esters adding a lively, almost earthy depth. Hints of wood and a touch of toffee provide a complex underpinning.

Finish

The finish is long and intense, with lingering notes of fruit, light spices and a hint of smokiness, typical of Jamaican rums. A slightly drying but pleasantly sweet finish lingers, leaving you to linger on the rich flavours.
