The Duchess is a Dutch independent bottler of whisky and rum, established in 2014 and based in Bussum. The brand initially focused mainly on whisky before expanding its range with distinctive rums from different countries and distilleries. Behind The Duchess is a team of experienced specialists who select casks for quality, character and maturation potential.

The stock is sampled and assessed regularly. A cask is bottled when it has reached the right moment or given additional time to develop further. The Duchess does not focus solely on famous names or impressive age statements. Lesser-known producers are also considered when their spirit shows sufficient individuality and quality.

Releases consist mainly of single casks and appear in very limited quantities. They are bottled at cask strength, without added colouring or other additives. Themed ranges such as Tropical Flowers, Tropical Hummingbird, Marine Life and Game & Wildlife combine distinctive spirits with striking labels created by artists. The Duchess therefore brings serious cask selection together with a recognisable and collectable presentation.
