Tasting note

Nose

Cuba 2016 starts with an elegant nose of light caramel, vanilla and honey, nicely balanced with fresh citrus aromas of lime and orange peel. Subtle floral notes and a touch of soft spices, such as white pepper and cinnamon, add depth.

Taste

On the palate, this rum is smooth and fresh, with a pronounced sweetness of vanilla, creamy toffee and light caramel. These sweet elements are complemented by a lively fruitiness of green apple and peach. There is a slight spiciness of nutmeg and cinnamon, which further enriches the flavour. The barrel aging imparts a soft wood note that harmonises with the rest of the flavours.

Finish

The finish is medium-long, with lingering notes of vanilla, caramel and a hint of citrus. The spicy warmth lingers gently, while a slight woody note rounds things off nicely. Cuba 2016 is a balanced, accessible rum with a refined sweetness and subtle complexity.
