Big Peat Private Casks Series Port Edition
Big Peat has always had a place in his heart for the Netherlands. This year, he expresses that once again with this fantastic limited edition exclusive to the Netherlands. To the firm Islay character, maturation in ruby port casks adds an extra fruity side to the whisky. Characterised by a typical Dutch windmill, this whisky is specially bottled for all Big Peat's Dutch friends.
Bottled at an alcohol content of 48%, obviously with natural colour retention and no chill filtration.
Tasting note
Nose
The nose opens with solid smoke and medicinal influences, typical of Islay, complemented by a hint of sweet red fruit aromas and dark berries coming from the port casks.
Taste
On the palette, a powerful combination of peat smoke, briny, and roasted notes emerges, balanced with hints of plums, cherries and a subtle vinous sweetness.
Finish
The finish is long and warming, with lingering smoky notes, a hint of pepper and a sweet port undertone. Big Peat Private Casks Series Port Edition offers a complex and satisfying whisky experience, perfect for lovers of heavy Islay whiskies with a twist.
